How do you deal with writer’s block?
Anne Maclachlan One way is to start working on a completely different project, maybe a short story, and let the plot cook on its own for a while. You can also create short stories that place your characters in unusual situations, unrelated to the novel, to see what happens. You get to know them better that way, and they will often begin to tell the story for you.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Anne Maclachlan The seed was planted during the New York City Midnight Madness 48-hour flash fiction challenge some years ago. I was assigned the horror genre, my location was a moving van, and the object was a piggy bank. What comes of that? Silver ... and werewolves. It did well, and a number of fellow writers challenged me to complete the idea with a full novel.
