Logan Lamech Stay home and homeschool my seven sons who range from 16 down to 3. So my summer reading ranges from reading "The Story of the World" history books to the bigs, and "The Big Blue Book of Beginner Books," to the littles.
Logan Lamech Was going to say Charlie and ther chocolate factory for the delicious treats. But now I'm thinking cloudy with a chance of meatballs would offer more options. Mmmm
Logan Lamech Well I'm the stay at home dad of seven sons, and I home school them all, so there's currently not a lot of left over time for me to write. It's also very difficult to concentrate with the constant interruptions. I do however sit down and right short stories along side of them during creative writing. It helps motivate them.
Logan Lamech I think I get the most inspiration from other stories. Reading books and watching movies always give me ideas on how I would have handled a situation or its characters. But that only works if I'm writing on a regular basis. If I'm writing I can get inspiration from something as basic as watching a person walk into a restaraunt. However if I step away for to long, all that inspiration dries up until I get back at it.
Logan Lamech A mailbox. See previous question for more details.
Logan Lamech If you don't love it, don't do it. It may not pay the bills, so only thing your sure to get out of it, is the joy of doing it. If you don't have that, it's probably not worth the gamble.
Logan Lamech Creative outlet. Whether it's creating an entire universe in a story, or doodling on paper while the cards are being shuffled, you have to feed that appetite.
Logan Lamech For me writer's block has always been about being to picky about a starting point. When I'm in this mind frame, I just force myself to just start anywhere. One time I closed my eyes and said the first thing I saw would be my starting point. First thing I saw was a mailbox. I ended up with a story about a mailman that I'm quite fond of. My other trick is to always leave the keyboard while I still have a lot of thoughts and idea's flowing. That way it's easy to come back.
Logan Lamech 1. I was hungry.
2. The kids had emptied the fridge. 😱
