I'm working on 'Childish Things,' the second book in my 7 Deadly Sins series. I'm excited as it is my first period piece (set in the 50's) and it deals with racism and censorship.

I always wanted to express that part of myself that is frustrated with being disabled, but it wasn't until I read 'My Sister's Keeper' that I decided to make it a family drama. Jodi Picoult really reminded me how illnesses of any kind effect everyone in a family, and suddenly I had some stakes in my story. Seeing how my stand-in, Dennis, slowly loses more of his touch with reality, and his connection to his family and friends, because of his envy: that became the driving force for 'Cane and Able.'
