I walk away and meditate for an hour or so. I seem to get ideas flashing through my head at that time. Going for a walk gives me ideas as it is like a walking meditation. Or, I leave the project for a few days. Otherwise, I change the point of view which offers a different angle or I will change the tense of the project from past to present and that stimulates ideas. Writing a tight outline can help because that clarifies the story line and the plot points. My main problem is honing in on one idea and focusing on that, then expanding that story line. I have too many ideas and have to rein them in. That's not easy.
