In a nutshell, if you want to be a writer, then you have to write. Try writing different styles, in different voices, and in different genres. In so doing, you might find that there's a sweet spot for you, for your voice, and for your style of writing. But if you want to be a writer, then just start writing!

My ideas for books usually come from thinking of a "what if" scenario. In "My Name Is Abby" my "what if" scenario was: What if you were on the run, but you wanted to quit running? How easy would it be? .... You'll have to read the book if you want to see how that works out for Abby!

I take a break. It might be a short stretch break, or I might put it aside until the next day. Sometimes I just need time to relax and let my mind wander around and through the threads that weave together to make the story without a keyboard in front of me. It's taking a break from writing the story and just imaging what could be.

How do I get inspired to write? It doesn't feel like I have to get inspired in order to write. It's part of my life. On one hand, writing is an outlet for fun and creativity. On the other, it's an outlet to write about things that are deep, and/or dear to my heart, as well as to write/talk myself through difficult decisions. Writing is a way of life for me.

Currently, I have two works-in-progress as shown below;

- "Pandora's Box" is in the writing stage. It's roughly a third written.

What's the best thing about being a writer? I would say it's getting to take an idea that's entered your mind, letting your mind run with it, and watching as it morphs into a story with characters that come to life.
