For challenging reading, I'm tackling Plutarch's Lives, and for light reading, I enjoy Louis L'Amour (don't laugh - his descriptions of land, sky, and people are exceptionally good), Gabaldon is a fast read, and usually I'll read whatever my husband brings home from the library.
