How do you get inspired to write?
Crystal Bowling It can be anything. A line in a song, the way the air smells, an overheard conversation, liquor....

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Crystal Bowling When you're not writing, read. When you're not reading, write. And learn everything you can. You never know when your random knowledge about spark plugs or how Napoleon liked his tea will come in handy in a story.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Crystal Bowling I work on something else. Writer's block usually signifies that something isn't going right in the story, so I try to get away from the book for awhile. I may work on another story, or refashion some old thrift store clothes. And, sometimes, I'll give the Hemingway treatment a try, and drink until I have a breakthrough.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Crystal Bowling "With a Twist" is a modern-day adaptation of the much beloved "Pride and Prejudice"... only I've swapped the genders. Mr. Darcy is now a woman and Elizabeth Bennet is a dude.

I don't remember whether I was rereading Pride and Prejudice or watching the movie, but I do recall thinking, "this all started because Darcy had a serious case of resting bitch face." Seeing as how that condition seems to cripple women more than men, I thought it would be a fun take on the story to switch things up.

What are you currently working on?
Crystal Bowling Right now, I'm working on the third book in my "Always the Bridesmaid" series. It's called "Always the Luck", and I can't wait to share it with everyone.
I also have a paranormal YA series, a time-travel novel, and a paranormal NA book/series on the back burner. Because I'm insane.
