Lee Hope A new novel. No horses in this one. But, as in Horsefever, there are people in marriages, and also it's inspired by a crime, although a different one.
Guess I'm drawn to crime and how to capture it in some kind of literary form.
Lee Hope I believe in sharing work, even if you don't do workshops. But if you do share work, don't share with readers who will only say it's terrific.
It so often isn't, best to push on. Because I think most writers, published or not, are aspiring writers.
Lee Hope I don't think it's the best thing to be a writer. I just have found over many years that I have to write. I know many writers say that. But still, it's a drive that won't let up. If it did let up, I wouldn't write.
Lee Hope You are so right! So many personalities. And as in any relationship, it's partly how the rider connects with that particular horse, don't you think?
My experience went from caring for and exercising polo ponies to leasing horses to owning some of my own, starting with Morgans, then a few Quarterhorses and finally a Warmblood/Thoroughbred cross. One almost killed me, broke many bones. Several gave me extra space. What does it say about us that we are so very involved with creatures that can do us in?
Lee Hope I freewrite. I write my way into a scene, or a voice, or a plot. I deal with writer's block by writing. Means I might have to revise a lot, but, hey,
it can work sometimes.
