David Ssembajjo It is like being stranded on an island without being able to leave. Where logistics are hard to come by and being unable to fend for yourself and you run the gauntlet of wild beasts coming from land and sea. You have to improvise and all the beasts come up to you. The island is far from civilisation and there is no rescue and having no tools to make a meal and having no shelter makes life precarious and having to encounter risks to one's survive. The island is not habitated and has never been occupied.
David Ssembajjo My fictional book world where I would settle and live would be in Siberia as in House of the dead. I would help the inmates by carrying out chores. I would take up my duties in prison. I would plead with the authorities to provide great living conditions and protect the interests of prisoners. I would fight to release inmates and reinstate prisoner's rights. I will take on all the tasks presented to me. I will open the cells and free prisnoners and provide inmates with everything they need. I would be the prisoners representative and offer them a helping hand. I would be the advocate and counsellor for inmates. I will make sure that inmates have power and clout. Those that are sick I will offer help and treatment. I would improve on the living condition of inmates and I will offer skills to inmates to be self-reliant and positive in their lives. I would make the prison or convert it into a place of rest rather than a place of punishment and torture. I will end torture and violence meted out by prison guards. I will make prison a place of rest.
David Ssembajjo My first book to read is MUSEUM OF INNOCENCE which is a love story.
David Ssembajjo My plot would be to fight for the truth and to struggle to find love. Love is hidden and sometimes it might be like its hidden in a haystack. You search for it in parks, bars, social clubs, travels and on land and seas. Love can't hide from you. You have to speak honestly to your loved ones. Love is in the air across the whole earth. Love is in cafes, hotels and restaurants and in dance clubs. My plot will be based on trying to find love and to discard loneliness. Loving someone is a first witness and a good confidant. True love is a gift from God. Love can be found, if you search and hunt for it. At the end of the plot I will find love made in heaven. There will be no love of convenience. There will be trust and we shall live beyond eternity.
David Ssembajjo My favourite couple is Madame Bovary and we see the couple struggling and coping with adultery. The couple live together but fail to reconcile. Madame Bovary conceals her relation and never reveals her motives and we are taken on a journey to find out whether the couple would reunite and live together. The couple can't understand that their affair has another person in the relationship. The couple live under one roof and have different attitudes that they face. The couple is faced with daily chores and being unable to live in a conducive relationship. Life for the couple is to cope and focus their attention on concealing their extra marital affair. We notice in the beginning the affair is progressive which later crushes on the rocks. It is an affair made in heaven which later fails to live up its standards. The couple suffers the indignity of adultery and the couple can't recover from this unfortunate episode.

The couple feel they can't understand each other and Madame Bovary never comes out of the closet and never rejects her extra affair. She falls in love to another man and lives between two men who are in love with her and she struggles to love both men. She either loves the one and hates the other. She makes her own life in the two worlds. The love affair she has has no profile of honesty and their marriage is constrained. She struggles to love and gain confidence and can't face up to reality. She endures concealing her extra affair and she is not confortable and convinced in the affair. The couple has a task to live together, or abandon living as a single couple or entity. She fears that her husband would find out and this causes her grief and anxiety.
David Ssembajjo This is a difficult experience that has many different facets to overcome writers' block. You could read a lot in order to overcome writer's block. You should know what the cause is to be able to write and remember. You need to train your brain for any eventualities and to rest if you are overworked. There are many causes of writers block but there is no cure. One needs to be skilled to overcome writer's block. You shouldn't stress yourself if you have interruptions but you need to be engaged with your writing.
David Ssembajjo It is about becoming a master over your own work and there is self control in your work. Writing is a duty and career which you improvise and practice. I have the confidence and self motivation. You are able to create your own world in writing. You become more organised and encouraged to write what you believe in. You can write at your own pace in your own time. You focus your life around writing and you are capable of writing about the world and to be able to make it a better place.

As a writer you are able to examine many events and the world becomes your own story. You gather information and ideas to write about. You test, try and discover the world. You are a free species in the eyes of the world. You become part of the world and you chronicle the world. It is the ambition of a writer to dispense knowledge and wisdom. You place your experience into words. A writer is living proof that a world can become harmonious and peaceful. Writing is an acknowledgement that brings understanding in the world. There are many subject matters to write about. Stories reflect real physical and practicable lives.

As a writer I am able to recreate puzzles and riddles for readers to interpret and for readers to find the true meaning of my work. I follow the reader by writing about any topic which they might find interesting and which they can relate to. I am able to write in great detail about the community I have lived in and my persional experiences help me to develop my work. I have the ability to create a volume of work that is contemporary and also historical in meaning. Every day offers varying opportunities for me as a writer and varying degrees of assessment. I offer a critical view of life and of the world and I challenge the social and political outlook of life. Writing is a progressive chapter which can enrich the mind and it offers knowledge in order to resolve problems in life. Writing offers ideas to solve predicaments that confront us. As a writer I am able to initiate debates on issues I write about.
David Ssembajjo I would advice an aspiring writer to have ideas of what they want to write about and exploit their experiences and to read plenty to have a feel of what they would like to write about. All books have a subject matter and theme. The book should have a storyline and to have a structure and should have a beginning and an end. Let the book reflect your own perspective. The book should relate to you and you to it.
David Ssembajjo I am currenly writing plays but I have a book that is on the drawing table.
David Ssembajjo I am inspired to write when I have a subject matter to write about based on my own personal experiences. I read a lot to get ideas and to get inspiration. I study books and I can recreate my ideas into my writing. I try to make the world my point of call and to garner information to enable me to devise a storyline. Some times I may jot down notes as a point of reference that I could use in my work. I try to make the world my stage and I try to ease and create a comfortable book for my readers.

My readers are my point of contact and my book is a wise conversation between me and my readers. I try to create a relation with my readers and I avoid using insulting controversial language. I try making sure that the book has a structure and plot depending on the storyline. I create scenes which stand out in the book both through spectacle and imagery. My writing is like a artists' picture on an easel. I engage in reading other writers and form ideas of what to write about. I appreciate readers reading my novels and I would like to contribute in a world debate on all important issues of our time and I consider my work would have space in this world debate. Today's world makes tomorrow's world. I would like to express myself through my writing.
David Ssembajjo I got the idea from living under a dictatorship rule. I was inspired to write the book because of Garcia Marquez's book Autumn of the Patriarch. I wanted to create a mystery and a myth. I was encouraged to write this book because there few books based on a military dictatorship. The book is about love and struggle of all kinds. I read many books before I resorted to write this book. I lived in a society without democracy and my book reflects my country.
