Suzanne Young I don't have writer's block because I don't sit down to an empty page without having the idea of a scene in my head. Advice I've given to others is to start writing down words ... words will turn into phrases and phrases into sentences into ideas ... etc. The process can be inspiring.
Exercise: Put your character into a good situation and turn it sour. Then, put your character into a sad or scary situation and turn it into something happy.
