Michael Ross Ault I take a walk in my woods or go split some wood. Something to let the subconscious have free rein for a while. Usually that loosens things up. If not I switch to one of my other projects, usually one of them will encourage me to start writing something.
Michael Ross Ault I wish I could be a full time writer, unfortunately my bill collectors would not like that. I like that you set your own hours (at least until you have deadline) and get to build your own worlds.
Michael Ross Ault Don't let criticism floor you. Look for the diamonds in the dross.
Michael Ross Ault I currently have several irons I am dancing around. I have two first draft manuscripts that need to be thickened (where is that writer starch when you need it). One is the third book in my Rex Franklin adventures working title "The Emeralds of Salt Cay" and the other the first book in my new Suppressors series called "Shattered". I have started working on the sequel to "Prelude to Darkness" called When Darkness Comes.
Michael Ross Ault I got inspired to write at an early age. My father was a frustrated poet and writer and I think it rubbed off on me. Starting with bad knock-offs of "Man From Uncle" I soon started writing science fiction. I remember being 14 or so and writing my stories in a Chief Tablet with pencil.
Michael Ross Ault My most recent book "Prelude to Darkness" came out of my traveling for wok mixed with my prepper leanings. I looked out of my hotel window at New York city and visualized how I would get home if an Electromagnetic Pulse wiped out the electrical grid.
