The idea originated when I was preparing a coral restoration project I led in one of the last virgin islands in SE Asia. As coral reefs are a very threatened ecosystem, I wanted to create a story that would convey in an exciting and clear way the need to preserve our planet.

It's a relief for the mind, which doesn't stop until you finish the story. It's also a lot of fun when your characters come to life and make their own decisions. And the most amazing thing is when you can make the readers feel the "magic" of your story.

At first, I am stubborn and dig in, but this just wastes my time until I admit I need to give it space, then I go out, see friends, sleep on it, and when I feel ready I start again with a fresh perspective.
