Holly Robinson Oh, I would definitely go to Prince Edward Island--land of Anne of Green Gables!
Holly Robinson Hi Annie,

I just saw your message here. I'm so very sorry you had to go through surgery and hope you have a speedy recovery! I'd be delighted to send you a few books to review. What's your address?

Thanks for asking--it's an honor!

Best,
Holly
Holly Robinson I always hate the book I'm currently writing, and my favorite book is always the one I've just finished copy editing. Currently, that's Haven Lake, the novel that will be published in April 2015. I love that book because it allowed me to explore a mysterious death, the long-lasting impact of war both on the soldiers coming home and on their families, and what it's like to raise sheep!
Holly Robinson I walk my dog, listen to music, go to a yoga class, or read. I also make sure to leave off writing in the middle of a scene, or even in the middle of a sentence, where I know what will happen next--it's much harder to get stuck if you do that.
Holly Robinson Besides working in my flannel pjs any time I like, the best thing about being a writer is that it lets you live many lives at once. So far, I have been a judge, a potter, a sheep farmer, a social worker, a psychologist, a marketing executive, and a boat builder!
Holly Robinson Keep knocking on doors. One of them will eventually open! And don't be afraid to ask for help along the way.
Holly Robinson I have two novels in the works: Haven Lake, which will be published by Penguin in April 2015, and Chance Harbor, a novel that will be published in October 2015. Both of them are tense, emotional family mysteries.
Holly Robinson I always say that a writer's mind is like that junk drawer in your kitchen that collects everything from rubber bands to receipts for mysterious things you don't remember buying. In my case, my writer's drawer holds bits of conversation, family, stories, inspirational settings, song lyrics...you name it. Whenever I'm stuck for an idea, I pull open that drawer and rummage around. Something interesting always pops out!
Holly Robinson My novel Haven Lake, which is scheduled to be released in April by New American Library, was inspired by a mysterious drowning that took place at a summer camp run by my grandparents.
