B.L. Newport I drink lots of coffee, smoke cigarettes, read and visit with friends until I feel the creative spark light back up. I tend to think of writer's block as the signal from the universe that I may need to give myself a break and maybe go a different direction than where I thought I wanted to go with a story.
B.L. Newport The best thing about being a writer for me is the ability to create worlds, personas and to learn aspects of myself and my beliefs that I may not have thought of if I weren't writing them down.
B.L. Newport Write. Write something every day. Even if it's a diary entry, write. People watch and listen to what's going on all around you. There's a story everywhere you turn. All you have to do is watch and listen and then think about it.
B.L. Newport Currently I am wrapping up the final stages of completing the "Reapers, Inc." series as well as working on a collection of short stories and a full length tale involving characters from the "Mackleberry Ridge" short stories. So, three projects at once all while percolating new ideas for future projects.
B.L. Newport I tend to find my inspiration in every day life. Whether it is a conversation overheard, a news article or something someone I know did right in front of me (probably forgetting that I might write about it), I find something worth noting and writing about.
