John Stamp A: Yavin Four, after Luke re-claims it for the Jedi.
B: So I could become a jedi.
John Stamp My last book that came out, Shattered Circle grew from my love of the paranormal. It also grew from my boredom with stories where the good guy seems to have some deep seated, unknown, power that puts him over the top when the time comes. I wanted to write something dark and supernatural but my main character could have no powers of his own. So I drafted the most pragmatic, no nonsense homicide detective I could think of and put him up against a supernatural evil. It all started there.
John Stamp Some little thing pops in my head and I break out the notebook and start writing down ideas associated with the idea. Sooner or later there is either a bunch of wasted paper or a loose print out for a novel.
John Stamp I'm taking a break from the crime thriller to clear my head with a fantasy novel. So far it's been quite a challenge.
John Stamp Write. Writing is the most independent and blue collar jobs there is. It's a grind knocking out page after page. There is no one looking over your shoulder pushing you to get it done. You have to motivate yourself and hold yourself accountable because in the end there is only one person that will be let down if you give up and that's you.
John Stamp You get to create a completely separate world and you get to watch the characters in that world grow and develop. Sometimes the story starts to tell itself.
John Stamp I just write. Even if it's pure garbage I barrel through until inspiration returns. It's not always a pretty process.
