Michael Kwan It's oftentimes said that a picture is worth a thousand words. The reverse is also true. Once you've written and published something, it's out of your hands. It can be interpreted a million different ways by a billion different people and that's the true beauty and power of the written word.
Michael Kwan There is a common misconception that writers have a constant and immediate access to a limitless well for creativity. That's simply not the case. The truth of the matter is that the glimmers of inspiration are the exception, rather than the rule, so you must be prepared to meet your muses halfway when they choose to visit. Just write. Even if it's bad. Just write. Write because you must. Chip away at the unformed mass, discard the junk, and you just may reveal a masterpiece if you're lucky. After all, fortune favors those who are willing to work for it.
Michael Kwan My books, much like my blog, are a reflection of whatever is going on in both my personal and my professional life. With Beyond the Baby Babble, I discuss some of the challenges and triumphs I experienced as a work-at-home dad. What I found was that while there are some books about parenting life, they were oftentimes from the perspective of stay-at-home moms or work-at-home moms. And while there are books about working from home, few approach the topic with the added slant of parental duties. My hope is that Beyond the Baby Babble addresses the unique niche that resides at the intersection of the growing trends of working from home and that of the engaged father.
