The just completed (January 31, 2016) manuscript first draft "When the Bee Stings" was inspired by a talk I heard at a writing conference. I presently have more ideas and inspiration than I could ever put to paper.

I just finished the first draft of my fifth novel "When the Bee Strings." My next step will be the self-editing process of the 92,000 word manuscript, It is follow-up story to my fourth published novel, "Wiggle Room."

I walk away from my laptop, even for a few minutes. It's surprising how that helps in coming up with just the right way to construct a sentence of narrative that's been tough or in finding just the right expression for a character's dialogue. If I've hit a complete brick wall, I do something totally non-writing related: work in the yard or go out with my wife or friends. Sometimes something I hear in conversation sparks an idea.
