They say "write what you know." I know Show Business and police stories because I was a kid actor and my father was a cop. When he retired, he and my mother opened a talent agency. I was fortunate to never have to work there, but my observations of personalities through the years gave me the idea for the story.

Inspiration comes from dreams and real-life experiences. Anger is always good for inspiration.

I'm currently working on an illustrated children's book titled:
"The Magic Sharqueen". It's a tale of a mixed-breed dog that overcomes prejudice and finds love with an Amer-Asian family.
Also, I'm doing a major update of my government conspiracy thriller,
"The Christopher Factor". This is a story about an experiment conducted on unwitting Air Force personnel, immediately after 9/11, that has deadly consequences fifteen years later.

My advice for aspiring writers would best be described in this Robert Heinlein quote: "Specialization is for insects." .... In other words, the more subjects you are familiar with and the more skills you possess will determine how interesting an author you're likely to be.

The best thing about being a writer is being God. You create. You animate. You motivate. You teach. And you destroy. All in the name of Story... Of course, this is a double-edge sword, in that the discipline required for the task is found within.

Writer's Block will be an issue postmortem. In the meantime, if I'm not writing I'm thinking or I'm reading, or I'm dreaming. It all seems to play off each other.
