I’m definitely looking forward to reading Whalefall by Daniel Kraus again (I had the honor of reading an ARC but I can’t wait to hold the finished edition in my hands). I also have Lone Women by Victor LaValle and Maeve Fly by CJ Leede on my list!

I have a few short stories in the works, all horror, and I’ve also been writing a satirical novel about vampires and pyramid schemes… I’m kinda behind where I should be with all these projects, but I’m trying my best!

My debut novel, Singing All the Way Up, is inspired by a lot of the mysteries in my life.
Here's one.
As a child, I'd often wake to lights shining in my window. They'd flash and move around. We lived in a very rural area; it's doubtful they were cars or people. There was no sound, no thunder. I'd simply wake up to the lights, think "they're here," and immediately fall back asleep. I kept this to myself until I was about 29 or 30 when my sister casually mentioned that she often woke up at night when she was a kid because there were lights shining in her bedroom windows. Her room was next to mine.

I have always been interested in UFOs and aliens, even as a young child, but it wasn't until 2019 that I became serious about researching the topic. I accumulated a lot of knowledge and decided I better do something with it before I forgot it all, so I set out to write a book. I wanted the book to subvert the typical alien abduction, making it into something beautiful. The image of a little girl singing while suspended in a beam of light popped into my head and I ran with it.
