Write something down. I know that sounds flippant but I meet a lot of people who say they want to be writers but haven't quite started yet. So, get writing. Doesn't matter if it doesn't quite work, worry about that later. Concentrate for now on getting things down and seeing how that feels as the words begin to pile up, then you won't have a blank page and you will have written, you'll be writing.

I've just finished The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway and I've turned for some light relief to Me by Elton John, which is an absolute romp. Next on the list is Skellig by David Almond, because a friend has sent it to me and I really should have read it by now! After that, who knows?
