Why does Amazon list "Now You See it" coming out in Sept 2023 as "related to Witch City Mystery" but not as though it is the next volume? Is that just a clerical error on their part? Can't wait to read it!

Carol J. Perry Hi Kimberly. The Amazon heading identifies it as "A Witch City Mystery" and I think the "related to Witch City Mystery" is there because I write two different cozy series, The witch city ones and the Haunted Haven Mysteries.: I guess that's their way of telling them apart!

As much as I love Lee, Pete, O'Ryan, and Ibby... I'd absolutely love to read more about River! Any thoughts of a spinoff series starring her?

Carol J. Perry It won't be a spin-off, but I try to vary the starring roles. Last one River had was Book #6--far too long ago. I'm working on Book#13 now, but I promise you that Book #14 will be River's--and I'll mention AMY in the acknowledgements for reminding me!

Can you tell us a two-sentence horror story?

Carol J. Perry I don't think so. My short stories somehow turn into books and I don't want to risk it right now!

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Carol J. Perry I'd go to the locale of Lilian Jackson Braun's "Cat who" series, Moose County--400 miles north of everywhere, and hang out at the applebarn with Jim Qwilleran and his two cats Koko and Yum Yum. Jim Qwilleran is my "literary dream date!)

Hi Carol, do you have any psychic visions? I have some precognition where I was able to let a father know who was worried about his wife when she would have the baby. I still remember being in an accident when I was 6 years old and waking up with my grandmother holding my hand but was turning me around and told me that it was not my time yet. I woke up on a gurney with my dad next to me glad to see me back.

Carol J. Perry Can't claim any psychic visions. I have the occasional "I was just thinking of you" when the phone rings, and I did once live in a haunted house!

I am confused about the cat’s name in the Witch City Mysteries . When he was Ariel Constellation’s cat,his name was Orion. But now when I’m reading some of the later books his name is O’Ryan. I haven’t read the books in order and some I have listen to audiobooks others I have read on eBooks so there’s a Possibility that I have missed the book in which his name changed. When did his name change(which book) & why?!

Carol J. Perry Ariel called him Orion. When Lee heard his name, she heard it as "O'Ryan" This was in Book #1. Perhaps the confusion comes from the audio books because since they sound the same, the name is in the listener's ear--so to speak. It's O'Ryan in all of the printed books

What books are on your summer reading list this year?

Carol J. Perry Probably too many! But so far I'm planning to read Shucked Apart by Barbara Ross; Wheeler Dealer by Rita Moreau; Murder in a Scottish Garden by Traci Hall. At the same time I'll be working on Book #2 in my new Haunted Haven series. Working title: HIgh Spirits.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Carol J. Perry I don't know. Mary Higgins Clark was asked "Do you enjoy writing?" She said, "I enjoy having written!" That's about it.

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Carol J. Perry I don't believe in it. Ever hear of "plumbers block" or "Garbage man's block" There are times when you just don't feel like it. You write anyway.
