James Newman Hi, Mike! Thanks for the question . . .

THE WICKED was definitely intended as a one-off, so I've never had any plans to write a sequel. However, I always dug the story that's included as a bonus at the end, and certainly wouldn't say it's out of the question to write another one that takes place sort of in the same "universe."
James Newman Think you're finished with that story or novel you've been working on?
Read it aloud. Then read it aloud again.

Chances are, it's not as ready to release into the world as you thought it was. I'd bet money on it, in fact. The best way to find (and get rid of!) clunky passages and flowery prose -- especially where good, realistic dialogue is concerned -- is to read your work aloud. More often than not, you'll realize the piece needs more work. Sure, it hurts when this hits you. But it's worth it in the long run.
James Newman Feedback. Writing is a solitary profession, one with no immediate reward (beyond the enjoyment of the craft itself). Once a project is finished and out there in the world, there's no greater feeling than to finally hear back from folks who were willing to spend their hard-earned bucks for something you worked so hard to create. And when they actually dig it . . . ? Oh, that's just a cherry on top.
James Newman Thanks for the kind words, Kelly -- you made my day!

Good news: ODD MAN OUT will definitely be available in e-book (as well as trade paperback) format later this year. Possibly as early as November.

James Newman That's been put on hold for a little while (obviously -- I see you asked this question over a year ago! :O Sorry about that!) while I work on some other stuff. But I do plan on penning a follow-up, tentatively titled UGLY TO THE BONE.
James Newman Yes, a new digital edition will be available soon from Cemetery Dance Publications . . . thanks for the interest, Gustavo!
James Newman Write something completely different, maybe even something you've never tried before.
James Newman I've almost finished adapting my novel UGLY AS SIN into a comic book script. That's been fun, if a tad challenging as I've never worked in this format before. Meanwhile, I've also got a good start on a novella tentatively titled ODD MAN OUT.
