Barbara Crooker I don't believe in writer's block, partly because my life is pretty restricted, as I'm the full-time caregiver of my son, who has autism. So, if I have some quiet time to write, I grab it!
Barbara Crooker Seeing your work in print, and getting responses to it, especially from people outside my circle of family and friends.

Barbara Crooker I have two new manuscripts, one with ekphrastic work about Fauve and other Post-Impressionist paintings coupled with word experiment poems, and one on the Book of Kells, which also includes a number of glosas, poems incorporating 4 line stanzas from other poets (I used Irish poets). Then I have a group of new poems on a variety of subjects that I'm still working on, but that were started on a recent residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.

Barbara Crooker This book (Barbara Crooker: Selected Poems) didn't really come from an idea, but rather, it seemed like it was time to create a Selected from my previously published (and out of print) chapbooks.
