Robin Hardy Thank you so much, Allison! What I always try to do is show my characters' Christianity in their actions, not their words. Just like in real life, what demonstrates someone's faith is what they do, not what they say. Of course, this means that not all my characters are what they profess to be!
Robin Hardy Hi, Olivia! Thanks for your question. The truth is, I was flooded with the story of Chataine's Guardian when I brought my newborn daughter home from the hospital. I didn't know what it was, but it plagued me so much that I finally prayed, "What do I do with this?" The answer was so strong as to almost be audible: Why don't you write it down? I did.

Years later, I started having dreams about a man with a scarred face. I knew he was connected to the Annals somehow, but I was busy with my life and I didn't want to find out. Then I got so sick that I had to stay in bed for a couple of days. During that time, I saw Ares and Nicole live out scenes from the books. It was as though I were suspended from the ceiling watching them. Anyway, as soon as I got well, I went to the computer to write Nicole of Prie Mer.

My advice for anyone writing any kind of fiction is: research is good; technical expertise is good, but the story is paramount. The worth of a story ultimately lies in its resolution: what happens? What does that communicate to your readers? In the final analysis, that's what matters.
Robin Hardy Hi, Yomi! Oh, yes, I'm working on two sequels to the book that came out last November: "If Only for This Life."
Robin Hardy From my readers! I had been getting a lot of requests for more about Streiker as well as Sammy, so I decided that it was time for Streiker to invade the Sammy Series. The book coming out this fall will be Book One of the Sammy/Streiker Salmagundi--that is, it will be a sequel to both Streiker's Morning Sun (4th edition) AND Sammy: The Consolation of Bucephalus. Fletcher and Adair are in it, as well as Sammy and his crew. However, you don't need to have read any of the previous books to jump right into the story.
