Write daily. Don't filter anything. Don't worry about punctuation, whether something sounds stupid, whether it makes sense. Just write. Whatever ends up on the page usually has something (the germ of an idea, a striking visualization, a piece of conversation) that can be refined, developed and/or polished into something much better.
