The block for me doesn't come from not knowing how to continue a story, but from wondering whether this is a story people will want to read. It's self-doubt that's the killer. You get over it by staying connected with other writers and the wonderful reading community out there, and thinking about what they love to read and why.

Keep believing in yourself, because there are so many knock backs in this business that it's easy to give up. But do listen, as well. Accept help and criticism in a positive light, and use it to improve. It's worth it!

I'm currently writing a novel set in Scotland and in Canada - two quite stunning natural locations with the closest of historical ties. It's a modern novel this time, but with historical flashbacks, and a guaranteed page-turner.

Mediterranean Summer is set in the part of France where I have my home - a beautiful region rich in culture and charm. It follows the story of characters already known to my readers, but is a stand-alone read. I love the passionate, youthful, vibrant era of the 1960s, and France was just waking up then to the modern world.
