She smiled in the dark and whispered, “Don’t worry, baby, I’m clean.”
Three days later, the only thing burning hotter than his rage was what she left behind.

Honestly, the biggest mystery in my own life that could make for a book comes from my time living and working overseas, especially during my military career. There were missions I was part of—supporting JSOC and other special operations units—where even now, years later, there are questions I’ll never fully have answers to.
One in particular still lingers: a series of operations where pieces never quite fit together. Certain intel would go dark, people would disappear—sometimes literally—and decisions were made above my pay grade that didn’t add up. Even now, I find myself wondering what really happened and why.
If I turned it into a story, it would read like a thriller with a heavy dose of psychological suspense: a man caught between loyalty to his country and his own need for truth, trying to unravel a web of secrets while realizing the deeper he digs, the more dangerous the game becomes. In many ways, it would echo the themes in Contracts for the Reaper—duty, deception, and the cost of uncovering what’s meant to stay buried.

I’d travel into The Exorcist’s House, but only to stay long enough to say I’d been there because the moment some demonic kid starts pissing on me, I’m out. Forget saving souls, I’d be sprinting down Sunny Branch Way faster than you can say “the power of Christ compels you,” booking the first flight to literally anywhere else.
