Marjorie Hudson Once you've spent your time struggling alone and creating (part of) a draft, join a writing community - which means don't just join things, but participate, lead, learn, and help other writers. It can be a workshop or class or your own writing group or all of the above. You will get to know others deeply and you will find your truths reflected back. Your work will improve and you will have people to hang out with through your ups and downs. And to celebrate with when your book comes out!
