Stephen King, without question. No author I've encountered possesses the skill set that he does. I think there was a time earlier in his career when he was untouchable--books like "Christine", "Cujo", "Pet Sematary" and others. The last book of his that I read was "Blaze". I've got a lot of catching up to do!

I have found that what works best for me is to imbibe two cups of strong coffee while standing on my head. Gravity and increased blood pressure work together to force all the ideas into my prefrontal cortex.

I have really only experienced writer's block once in my life. It was like being intellectually impotent. It occurred to me the other day that one of the major drug companies should come up with a "writer's block Viagra." One little blue pill to get the ideas flowing again. Can you say pharmaceutical bestseller?
