No matter how long I looked at the thing, I couldn't tell what it was, only that it was hungry. No way was this going to turn out well.

There are too many fictional book worlds to choose just one to visit, although I wouldn't mind extended stays in Middle Earth, Hogworts, Dinotopia, Dune and, of course, where "No One Has Gone Before"!

During this summer of 2017 my personal reading seems to be on fiction that is out of my usual preferred genre. For example, I've gotten caught up in Lian Hearn's Tales of the Otori series that begins with Grass for His Pillow. Highlly recommend it!

Actually, I dare not say what mystery in my own life could be a plot for a book, because that particular mystery is going to be at the heart of my second novel that will hopefully be coming out at the end of the year! Let's just say mysteries are not always about who murdered who or who spied on what country. Mysteries crop up in everyday life all the time; we just don't always recognize them for being mysterious until later.

I can't pick just one favorite fictional couple! Elizabeth Bennet & Mr. Darcy, Morticia & Gomez Addams, Muldar & Scully, Anna & the King of Siam. And these are just who come to mind in the first five minutes. As to why, it's the journey to romance that I love, finding that unexpected "other."

Getting to create something that didn't exist before. Maybe it's a character, maybe it's an idea. Whatever it is, it wasn't there before - you had to create it.

The few times I got blocked while writing Curse Me Not, I’d step away from the keyboard for a few days. If that didn’t work, I’d try a glass of Chardonnay, playing with the cats or reading what I’d written so far from the very beginning. That last one always did the trick.

Not surprisingly a half billion things inspired me to write Curse Me Not, not the least of which was my own desire to read something new in the paranormal romance genre. In particular, I wanted a plausible paranormal twist and a mature heroine who wasn't the usual kick-ass stereotype. That, and I wanted some fantasy romance too!
