I have just finished the hand written draft of the third in the series of the Laura Cahill mysteries. I already have the next two books after that in my head and can't wait to get started.

Don't give up. I have tell you that the community of writers is one of the most generous I have ever come across. Big name writers that I have written to for advice have all responded. I know it was probably an assistant but every sing one wrote back to me. Their advice was - don't give up.

I can't speak for all writers but I would say that we very rarely feel lonely the way a lot of people do. It is a solitary existence but it doesn't follow that it is lonely.

The one time that I had awful writers block was when I tried to write on a computer. I have to write by hand first, then put it into the computer. Some books just flow easier than others. But I generally know the story in my head when I put pen to paper.

Honestly, I can't imagine not writing. I won writing contests at school from the age of 8. There are certain writers who I admire greatly and wish I could write like them. But writing for me is like breathing.

They generally come from pieces of art or from a piece of music. Every now and then someone will say something and that particular phrase will capture my imagination and I will start building a story around that. I recently heard of "Deception Island" and I am building a book around that.
