What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Patrick O'Connor My grandfather was Irish and a sympathiser to the cause. He left my grandmother and my father and disappeared. Later my father, who joined the merchant navy, tried to look for his father, who was rumoured to have gone to the US. My sister, who is the family historian, couldn't be sure whether my grandfather was sent to the US by Michael Collins to raise money or whther he had actually been an informer for the British Army and fled to America. I feel sure there is a story in there somewhere...
