The book I'm working on was inspired by a horrible crime committed in New Orleans in 1834.

I'm working on my second story set in turn of the century New Orleans. This story, tentatively called Mysterious Moonlight, follows a vampire police detective who must deal with the repercussions of a crime committed nearly a century before. A little different for me, but I love the two characters and this story pulls in many aspects of New Orleans.

Read about the craft. Understand the craft. Writing isn't merely setting down words on a page. Understand grammar, passive voice, filters, and myriad other issues present in too many works. Characters should be multi-dimentional, stories should have depth, with fully thought out plots.

I love the various worlds I live in. As with reading, writing transports me to different places. I have to say, I love the solitary pursuit as well.

I have the opposite of writer's block. I live with an urgency to write as much as I can and never run out of writing options. I have more stories than I'll ever have time to write.
