When I hit a spell where I can't push the story any further, I give the story a rest for a while. Sometimes I'll read a book similar to what I'm writing, or I'll start writing something else for fun to awaken my creativity. It usually doesn't take long before the right idea comes to break my writer's block in two. :)

The thing I enjoy most about being a writer is having readers enjoy my books. It's so rewarding to read or hear people say how they could relate to my characters, or they want to find out more. I write from my heart and I want my readers to "feel" the heart in my writing. School and library visits are TOPS too. I just LOVE interacting with children.

Believe in yourself and don't give up. Reading and writing go hand in hand. Read the genre of books that you would like to write, so you can see how other writing styles work: character development, plot details, setting, etc. Try to incorporate those tips into your own writing to develop your unique style. Keep writing, regardless of the rejection you may receive. It only takes ONE yes to erase all the rejection.Focus on getting that YES.
