Apologies for the delay, I wasn't aware that this section of goodreads existed until today! Honestly, I've always loved thrillers, and my mind just kind of gravitates in that direction. Someday I might tackle different kinds of stories, but I love it when the stakes are high and the outcome uncertain.

Sorry, I didn't even realize this part of goodreads existed!!! Anyway, if you're still curious...I felt strongly that the trope in YA is that when you introduce a male and female character and team them up, they invariably end up in a romance together. And while Noa and Peter dance around that a bit, I knew from the outset that what I really wanted was for them to become lifelong friends. I wanted to make that just as valid as a romantic relationship.
