Michael Richards Creating new worlds, and entertaining others!
Michael Richards I'm illustrating a children's poetry book, and a series of children's books about a pioneer ancestor of mine. I'm writing a young adult humorous science fiction novel, and doing research for a serious science fiction novel for adults.
Michael Richards The actual idea for writing a book in the first place was a goal I've had since high school, and I have always loved writing stories. One of my favorite genres is mystery/thriller; not so much for the murder aspect of most stories--something I don't like too much--but instead for the thrill of solving a mystery. I especially love stories that have a surprise around every corner, which is something I've tried to do with "Dead Wind Hollow". The idea for using a dwarf as my main character comes from the fact that, since I'm extremely tall, I've always wanted to be short. I've been fascinated by those who are very short, and in my research for the book, I found almost no stories with a dwarf as a main character, especially one where they are portrayed as serious people, rather than as silly or evil. I wanted to show that people with dwarfism are still people, and are able to contribute for the good of society like anyone else.
