Oh that's a tricky one. Arguably there is no such thing as Writers Block. However... I felt I had writers block for about a year. I sat back and dipped my toe in every so often. Then I opened up an old WIP and I discovered I just couldn't stop writing. It turned into my latest book which is due for release in February.

I would say - probably only write what you know about. Failing that if you want to dip you toe in, ensure you do endless research. There is always someone who will pick you up on something.
