Karin Cox There is no such thing as writer's block. There is only writer's laziness. I should know because I am the world's best procrastinator. Having said that, I also think you need to let your words steep. I will never be a particularly fast writer for that reason. I need to step away from them, and then fine-tune, then rinse and repeat. It takes me a long time to be happy with what I have created.
Karin Cox The dress code. :-p And the fans are wonderful. Plus, you get to create entire people and worlds with your words. I can't think of anything better than that.
Karin Cox Just keep on going. One word at a time. Sometimes its hard and you will want to quit (if you can, most can't). But even if you stall, pick up the pen or whirr up the computer and try again. One. Word. After. The. Other.
Karin Cox A New Adult novel called What the Sea Wants, which explores the supernatural and our own tendency to doubt the things we don't know even when instinct tells us they might be true.
Karin Cox That's a hard one, because I am a terrible procrastinator. I love having written but actually sitting down to start writing is the hardest part for me. I'm usually inspired by a single sentence that pops into my head in the middle of the night when I'm trying to sleep. It's not uncommon for me to sit up and type out the idea or paragraph into my iPad at two in the morning.
Karin Cox My most recent book is close to my heart because it focusses on life in a small Australian coastal town, not dissimilar to the one I grew up living close to. The central character Juliette, is grieving and I wanted to explore the fine line between grief and mental illness.
