M.M. Brownlow The most recent book, Pursuit of Revenge, came from a group of young ladies who wanted someone they could more closely relate to (as opposed to Aislynn, who they like but can't really identify with). Avalon's story is more her reaction to life as it unfolds around her. It's still fantasy, which adds a certain level of unrealistic action, bit the character is more "normal."
M.M. Brownlow My series' come from a long ago plan, so those plots have been in my head for a long time (like decades). My collection that I'm working on is inspired by music though - those lyrics that just grab me and I can't help but think how great a story they would make.
M.M. Brownlow Keep writing! The best thing you can do is write, seek advice from people willing to be honest, and keep at it. Don't get discouraged, and remember that you can't please everyone.
M.M. Brownlow Since I'm an indie writer, the best thing is having complete creative control over my world. I can have whatever I want happen wherever I want...it's a lot of fun. I also find it great stress relief.
M.M. Brownlow I leave the book be for a bit and go do something else. I find that the idea I need to continue will come to me if I'm not thinking about it, so if I'm working in the garden or washing dishes, for example. I also have friends who are willing to let me talk at them about my current plot, and the next scene comes put of those discussions a lot too.
M.M. Brownlow I'm currently working on "Pursuit of Fortune," which is the third book in the Pursuing Victory series. I'm also working on a group of short stories and novellas for a collection I'm putting together.
