Jim Shields As referenced in answer above: I was mowing my grass and found a bunny's nest. The idea for Welcome Baby Bunnies was born in my front yard! By the time I had finished mowing that morning - I had a good part of the book written in my head.
Jim Shields Observing and paying attention to the world around me. I am convinced that each of us is exposed to material for multiple books in our lifetime - IF we will simply pay attention to what is provided for us.

Jim Shields IF you can NOT write - don't write! Once you decide that you MUST write - never walk away from writing. Write something as often as possible. Never stop learning and developing your craft. However, do not allow yourself to become a slave to the keyboard. Take your writing out of the office occasionally. Most of all: Have fun with your gift!

Jim Shields The longest period of writer's block that I can recall lasted only about 3 weeks. I used that time to rest my creative side and to ponder other topics for future projects.
