This is such a big question that I'm worried it'll drive me crazy if I think about it too long. I'll say my favorite reading experience of all time was probably with House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. It's a divisive book to many horror fans, especially given the amount of hype its received over the years. For me, I discovered it on the bottom shelf of a bookstore within probably its first year of publication, having never heard of it before, and was completely transformed by how it drew me in and made me rethink what a book can be. House of Leaves is a book that is impossible for any two people to read the same way, just by the very nature of its format. I also remember how it moved through my friend group like a virus, since anyone walking past would glance at it, then take a look inside, then buy themselves a copy, only to have the next person walking by do the same. Long story short, better or worse, House of Leaves.
