A novel called "Savage Joy," the most autobiographical piece I've done, about my first year or two in New York City in my 20s (in the mid-'70s), living in the East Village, only a few blocks from CBGB's.
My first job back then was at the New Yorker magazine, so I was bridging two worlds: the fancy midtown literary world, and the East Village punk rock world. "Savage Joy" flows between both, with lots of drama, intriguing characters, and personal discoveries.
