Janet Gurtler Hi Amanda,
Great to hear from you. It's sweet of you to ask! And notice! I don't have a publisher anymore as Sourcebooks chose not to publish my new books. I have a few things I've worked on, but nothing is done yet.

I'll be finishing up a new book next year, I've taken a bit of a break from writing. I'll let you know when it's ready to read!!

Thanks! Much love,

Janet
Janet Gurtler I've always always loved writing. And I always wanted to write a book. When I had my son (16 years ago AHHHH!) I decided it was time to write one.

Now I'm inspired by lots of things, but mostly by wanting to tell stories about characters who are going through change, and need to know they're going to be all right. I'm a sucker for sad stuff. I write, because it makes me feel better.
Janet Gurtler Thanks so much. Wilfred is actually the name of the Grandpa I never met but the character is made up. He is a sweet old guy isn't he. I wish he was real!!!
Janet Gurtler I would love to have it made into a movie! Haha! I don't get to choose that though. Someone would have to buy the rights and make it! Lovely idea though! Thanks!
Janet Gurtler Thanks for the compliment! 16 Things Was kind of inspired by a 'what if' situation. What if a girl who was embarrassed by something that happened on social media and lost her friend, ended up living her life on social media (irony) and needed to get a real life back.
Janet Gurtler I would love to see that too. :) Unfortunately,I don't have a lot of say in it. That's up to the movie buying and making people. But thanks for letting me know !
Janet Gurtler Hi! I loved your question and the way you half answered it! All of my YA books have been stand alones, so no, I don't plan on writing a sequel.

Amy was one of my favorite characters to write, so it would be fun to write more about her, but at this point, I don't think that will happen. :)

Thanks for writing!
Janet Gurtler I think the intention is for you to imagine the rest. As far as I'm concerned Jaz and Jackson go on to have a good life.

Janet Gurtler There isn't. If I Tell was a stand alone book :)
Janet Gurtler Hi Amanda!
I have not got anything planned as far as a sequel to my books go. I do want to write an epilogue to How I Lost You (a couple of characters do show up in The Truth About Us briefly) I just have to find the time to write it. Le sigh. :)
Janet Gurtler Coffee and guilt.
Janet Gurtler The uniform and the commute.
Janet Gurtler Study the craft of writing and never give up your dream, whatever that dream is. Traditional publishing or otherwise.
Janet Gurtler A romance series! Adult, but not too steamy
Janet Gurtler I try not to believe it exists...I will try and write through it, set up word count goals until I push through it.
