I would travel to Rarity Cove, which is the setting for Before the Storm and Low Tide. It's a small, coastal town in South Carolina. There are historic buildings and a quaint town square, and no fast food restaurants or chains. Best of all, it's just forty minutes or so outside of Charleston, so if you tire of the small town life, a larger city is nearby for exploring.

Great question! I don't know about a whole plot, but in my hometown in East Tennessee, there is a very old mansion on the river there that I've been obsessed with my entire life. After my next (upcoming) release, I'm planning to write a romantic suspense story set in Tennessee and feature a spooky old house inspired by this mansion. There is a lot of mystery and ghost folklore around it. Thanks for asking! (Sorry it took me a few days to respond but I've been out of town and not checking email as often as I should. :)

So hard to say! Of my own characters, it's ALWAYS the couple I'm writing at the time. In fact, when I go to write another book with new characters, it takes me a little time to warm up to them since my head and heart are still with the previous ones.
With regard to fictional characters outside my own, I'll go the TV route, and my "favs" change along with the times. I'm dating myself, but years and years ago, I was really into Maddie and David on Moonlighting. I later became obsessed with Mulder and Scully, who might still be my all-time favorite fictional couple. So much angst!
Thanks for the question!

Hi Jonetta, First, my apologies! Your question is over a year old and I just now saw it (not sure why GR didn't notify me). I hope I'm not too late! I can tell you this, there will be a second Rarity Cove novel coming this year! The book focuses on Mark's brother, Carter. Thanks again for your question and again, my apologies for my super tardiness in answering!

Hi Disir, and Happy New Year!
With regard to my doings in 2015, I have another novel nearing completion that I’m planning to publish later this year. It’s my first foray into something outside of law enforcement-oriented romantic thrillers. This book meshes romantic suspense with small-town contemporary, and might also be the beginning of a two- or three-book series, as it introduces a family I've become quite engaged with. Beyond that, however, I do plan to return to my roots of romantic suspense centering on law enforcement.
Thanks for your question and I'm so glad you've enjoyed my books so far!

Hi Disir, thanks for your question. Fallen was originally intended to be a standalone novel (i.e., not part of a series), but that could always change! As for what's next, I have another book in the works, set in a fictional beach town outside Charleston, S.C. It definitely has romantic suspense, but also has a Southern small town contemporary feel to it. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Ryan and Lydia's story.

Hi Willa ~ thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed Fallen. I always feel like the book I just finished was the hardest one to write!! But I think the easiest one for me was probably Midnight Caller. It was my first book and I'd had that story in my head for a long time before putting anything on paper...err, computer screen. It spent much longer germinating than the other stories, so I really had a good grip on it beforehand.

Hi Christine,
My hometown is Kingsport - I remember going to Oak Ridge many times when my high school played yours (I went to Dobyns Bennett and my Dad was one of the coaches there). I still have family in Kingsport and Johnson City and get back there several times a year. And I'm so glad you found Fallen - I hope you like it and I appreciate your taking the time to review. I also have three other books that came out in 2011 and 2012. Thanks for the question!

I have another novel close to completion that I’m planning to publish sometime next year. While Fallen is a standalone novel, my next book, tentatively titled Clarity Bay, might be the start of a series. It’s my first foray into something outside of law enforcement-oriented romantic thrillers. While Clarity Bay certainly has aspects of romantic suspense, it also has a Southern, small town romance vibe.

Having a home office and working in comfortable clothes. I live in the suburbs of Atlanta and used to have a terrible commute into the city each day. I don't miss that at all!

That’s a good question. I wish I knew the answer! I just get these little seeds of ideas in my head and then start working the story out on my computer screen. I daydream A LOT about my characters, and the majority of those scenes floating in my mind never make it into the actual story.
For my Chasing Evil Trilogy, all I knew in the beginning was that I wanted each book to be about a different FBI agent, facing the investigation of his life while also beginning to develop feelings for a woman ensnared in the case. My new book, Fallen, is also in that “law enforcement romantic thriller” territory. But emotionally, I wanted to give it a new twist. Instead of having two characters who meet and fall in love over the course of the story, I wanted to write about a couple who had once been very much in love, then had a terrible tragedy befall them that drove them apart. Having a previously married couple trying to find their way back to one another was something I hadn’t done before. And of course, all of this is set against a pretty tense investigation my hero is handling…he’s a homicide detective with the Atlanta Police.
