I have been studying yoga philosophy with my teacher Douglas Brooks for almost a decade. Many of the concepts in the text come from him, but I wanted to bring them more to life and make them extremely relatable to modern day living. I was also inspired to comment on the current state of our environment and weave that in as a secondary concept. How we live our lives has impact on everything else in the web of life. I want to line up more fully with nature's intelligence and hope for our society and world to do the same.

All of my inspiration comes from living my life. I ask questions, listen, look around, and marvel at what this brilliant world has to offer. All of this provides ample fuel for my writing.

Read other books, listen to what your inner voices tell you, jot down any and every idea that comes to your mind or you will forget it, create at least 3 hour chunks of distraction free time when you are writing, get feedback on your writing, don't take anything personally, and trust your gut.

I love that I get to express what is flowing in my mind into creative combination of words. I also enjoy the reality that I get to share with people some of the concepts I am most passionate about in this lifetime!

I often find that writer's block needs to be entertained. I sit down and stay with my resistance and frustration and see if it breaks after a little bit. If it doesn't I will shift to writing on another topic and come back to the other one another day.
