I would love to go to Pern. Anne McCaffrey created a world with characters I would love to meet. But most of all, I want to ride on a dragon.

That's a good question. My inspiration to physically sit down and write comes after an idea has churned around in my brain for a while and is ready to be put on paper. I do my best thinking while doing dishes, taking a bath, or working in the yard. The problem is - sometimes I forget the beautiful dialog I dreamed up by the time I finish my chores and get back to the computer...

I have four or five manuscripts partially written. Unfortunately, medical issues and other responsibilities have kept me from getting very far on any of them. I hope to have the third book in the Wee People series and the next book in the Patchwork Dog and Calico Cat series completed by the end of the year.

Go with the flow... If an idea for a book continually hammers at your brain, write it down. The first draft doesn't have to be perfect - just get the story down on paper (or word document). You will perfect it as you do your second, third, fourth, etc drafts. When you get the story to the point where you like it, get some beta readers who will give an honest opinion. Consider their thoughts and suggestions. Then when you have your masterpiece, have it professionally edited before you publish.

The best thing about being a writer is seeing something I've penned enclosed between two covers and actually being called a book. Also having other people commenting on how much they like the story and creating new friendship with some wonderful folks.

If I spend more time staring at the computer screen than writing, I'll give up for the day and try again a day or two later. By re-reading what I've previously written, the ideas start flowing again....most of the time.
