Lili Wright Hi Aaminah, Thanks for writing and reading "Dancing with the Tiger." To take your last question first, the novel is a story about masks, real and metaphoric. I've always loved masks as an artform and find them scary, the way a mask's expression doesn't change. Some days, when something lousy has happened in my life, I go to work all day and no one has any idea what is going under the surface. This strikes me as both sad and courageous. We all put on our game faces and carry on.
Anna was dancing for Thomas. In that moment, she felt powerful, someone to be worshipped, felt but not understood.
As for Hugo and Lola, it was a love affair that Hugo had no business being part of, but he could not help himself. Lola was hoping to escape a bad situation. In the end, Hugo does the right thing and returns to his wife.

Hope this answers your good questions! Please recommend the novel to friends if you enjoyed it!
All best,
Lili
