Read, read, read, then read some more. The best writers are avid raders. I agree with Stephan King "If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.

I'm presently outlining volume two of The Calling and developing the tv series based on volume one.

The best thing about writing for me is the escape. I love disappearing into the worlds I create. It's a place I understand amongst people I understand. I cherish the discovery, the unfolding of events in real time, and most of all, I enjoy entertaining the reader. I never set out to deliver a message. My goal is to entertain the reader. Everything else should emerge organically.

I don't know, because I've never experienced writer's block. I have days where I don't feel like writing, or I'm distracted, but it never lasts. Generally, I don't begin writing until I feel like I know who my main characters are and have a general feel for how the story ends. After that it's all steam ahead!

I'm blessed with mounds of self-motivation. I get inspired just by the thought of diving into the story. I enjoy every bit of the process, from research and character development, to just letting my imagination soar. I also draw inspiration by reading good fiction. I've learned that being well-read is the bedrock of staying inspired to write.

My most recent novel, The Calling: A Supernatural Faith-Based Suspense Thriller came from a television series I'm developing. I had already written ten episodes of season one and felt inspired to turn them into a novel. I'm glad I did, as it was one of the most rewarding writing experiences I've ever had, and I know readers are going to enjoy the ride.
