I have three children on the autism spectrum, so I have first-hand experience that sometimes different can be better! I wrote The Lost Chord with my daughter as the model for the main character Bee Warrick, and she shows her companions in the fantasy journey how autistic people may speak oddly, or approach a situation oddly, but they can also have interesting insights.
