Jolien Janzing Over twenty years ago, receiving a chronic diagnosis compelled me to examine health from an investigative journalist’s perspective. I began researching evolutionary biology and paleopathology, looking closely at how human health shifted when our ancestors transitioned from hunting and foraging to early agriculture. Skeletal and archaeological records show that Paleolithic humans were remarkably robust, while the introduction of cultivated grains, dairy, and modern processed foods brought a steep rise in inflammatory conditions. I wrote The Oldest Diet in the World to bring together historical data, scientific sources, and practical ways modern humans can align their food with their evolutionary biology. The book officially launches September 30 on Amazon!
Jolien Janzing Right now, I am preparing for the September 30 launch of The Oldest Diet in the World: Eating Like a Hunter-Gatherer to Calm Inflammation, Lose Weight, and Tame Autoimmune Disease on Amazon. We currently have an advance copy Goodreads Giveaway running until September 29! Alongside the launch, I am writing background articles on evolutionary nutrition and the science behind ancient food sources.
